The Ford Bronco was one of the original full-size SUVs, and for many decades it was essentially an F-150 with a built-in cap over the bed. Ford replaced it with the Expedition when four-door SUVs became popular, but now they’re bringing it back for the 2020 model year. The company is staying quiet about it for now, but thanks to a couple leaked pictures of the “baby Bronco,” the public does know a few things about the new design.

It Will Have a Retro Design

The first thing you can see from the leaked photos is that the sleek curves and sharp angles of modern car design are there, but they’re on a very blocky frame shape that deliberately calls back to the old Ford Bronco that kept its blocky design up through the 1990s. However, the different color stripes of the body, window level, and roof are a very modern touch.

It Will Be an Off-Road SUV

While many SUVs made by Ford and other companies are best at navigating city streets and paved highways, the 2020 Bronco will be one of the designs that really put the “sport” in sport utility vehicle. According to Ford, the Bronco will share design elements with the Ranger compact pickup truck, which means it’s sure to be rugged.

There’s not much to say about the new Ford Bronco yet, but it won’t be long before the company shares more about what it will bring to the market. Based on what we do know, the Bronco promises to follow its namesake by giving customers an off-road family vehicle.
