When it comes to five-passenger sport utility vehicles, Ford has two top choices: the 2018 Escape and the 2018 Edge. Take a look at these features to see which one is right for you.

Much to Like About the 2018 Ford Escape

The Escape is a compact SUV that features sporty handling and above-average cargo space. The Escape includes Ford’s signature grille along with fog lights and chrome elements on most trims. The Escape also comes standard with an LCD screen infotainment system. Base models come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine yielding 168 horsepower, while the Titanium trim boasts a 245 horsepower engine.

Advantages of the 2018 Ford Edge

The Edge is slightly larger than the Escape. Its smooth ride emphasizes performance, style, and refinement with a sporty twist. All trims include a chrome grille, except for the Sport which has a black grille. The Edge’s taillights are sleeker than Escape’s, giving it a futuristic look. The Edge also includes an LCD screen infotainment system, but the Edge offers more cargo space than the Escape. The Edge is available in three different engines, with the base trims sporting the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the top trims of the Escape. The SEL and Titanium can step up to a 3.5-liter engine yielding 280 horsepower.

Bottom line

If you’re looking for a lower price and practical design, the Escape is a safe, reliable ride for a reasonable price. If you seek more refinement and style as well as more powerful engines, the Edge may just be the ride for you.
